Carrying a Fake ID
It is illegal for anyone under 21 to use or posses a fake ID.
You can be charged for the following behaviors:
- Creating, altering, or selling a fake ID
- Being in possession of a fake ID (whether or not you intend to use it)
- Misrepresenting oneself as 21 or older for the purpose of obtaining alcohol
- Using another person's ID to obtain or attempt to obtain alcohol
A first offense conviction of possessing false identification is a summary offense. A second or subsequent violation automatically becomes a 3rd degree misdemeanor. The fines, jail time, and license suspension increase with each additional offense.
